Prof. Dr. Menderes Kabadayı, deans, administrative staff, academicians and students attended the event held at the Life Center open-air stage. OMU Rector Bilgiç got the Newroz fire going and jumped over it and realized a Turkish tradition by forging metal.

Rector Bilgiç and their company joined in games such as Egg fight and rope tensioning, which have become traditional in Newroz, and visited the booths of Turkmen, Afghani and Iraqi students, who exhibited their traditional food and costumes in the square.
