The Common Pain of the Turkish World: Khojaly Massacre

The 613 Azerbaijani Turks, who were massacred during the Karabakh War between Azerbaijan and Armenia by the Armenian forces on February 26, 1992, in the town of Khojaly in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, were commemorated with the program held in Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) as was done in our Turkey.

 

The memorial program was held at the Hodja Martyrs Monument built by the University in 2019 in order to keep the memory of the Azerbaijani Turks who were brutally murdered in Khojaly, a disgrace in the history of humanity.

 

Faculty of Science and Letters, Department of Turkish Language and Literature faculty member Prof. Dr. Serkan Şen and Department of Physics faculty member Prof. Dr. Mustafa Çağatay Tufan, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering faculty member Prof. Dr. Azer Kasımzade, academicians, Instructor from the International Relations Office İsmail Hodziç and International Student Office Staff Ahu Gürbüz, Azerbaijani and Turkish students attended the programme which took place in the Kurupelit Campus with the organization of the International Relations Office and International Student Office.
